Taste Test: Samot-Sari

Taste Test is a series of bite-sized chunks of lore developed for the upcoming Meilakanjan RPG project. They are all works in progress, and are open to revisions. Since these are incomplete, they are also offered for free.

Ideally, you can use each Taste Test in isolation to add Southeast Asian cultural bits to your RPGs. Let me know if it worked as intended or not.

Meilakanjan literally says "a lakan lives there." While ostensibly used to describe the lavish palaces of the lakans, Meilakanjan also refers to a city of interconnected port polities that these merchant princes rule over. In this land of favors and vendettas, debt and pageantry are currencies as good as gold. 

For this one, we talk about the samot-sari marketplaces that form when the monsoon winds meet.
